題目：On the Diachronic Development of Proto-Malayo-Polynesian Ligatures
摘要：
A common feature of the Austronesian languages of Taiwan and those spoken in the Philippines and languages to the south is the presence of a typically monosyllabic morpheme, commonly called a ligature, that appears to link a nominal (or verbal) head and structures that are attributive to it, such as relative and complement clauses. There is a wide variety of forms that function as ligatures in these languages, and some controversy has arisen regarding its correct reconstruction in Proto-Malayo-Polynesian. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the methodological basis of the controversy, and to propose the most appropriate methodology to reconstruct the ligature for Proto-Malayo-Polynesian. The talk will focus primarily on the reconstruction of the ligature in the context of various numeral phrases, and demonstrate their diachronic development in Philippine languages.
