摘要:We Frank went to London means “Frank and I went to London” or “I went to London with Frank” in a considerable number of languages from different areas and groups. The pronoun we here encodes the total set of participants in which Frank is included as the proper subset. This structure, called “inclusory constructions” by Lichtenberk (2000), is observed in many Austronesian languages among which is Seediq (Atayalic). This study first describes the inclusory constructions in Paran Seediq from the following perspectives: the constraint of an inclusory pronominal and an included noun phrase, the phonological feature of an inclusory noun phrase, and the semantics of verbs. Then, the findings are compared with the previous description of Taroko Seediq. Based on the structural differences between these Seediq dialects, a possible direction of the historical change is suggested. In addition, the description of the close language, Atayal (Atayalic), is introduced to overview the inclusory construction from the viewpoint of Atayalic subgroup.
