廖家萱老師於國立台灣師範大學英語系取得學士與碩士學位後，至美國馬里蘭大學取得語言學博士學位與認知神經科學學程證書。其研究專長為神經語言學、心理語言學、認知神經科學，研究上使用腦造影技術(如腦電波儀、腦磁波儀、功能磁振造影)，來探討(雙語)語句處理的神經機制，希望藉著結合語言學的理論與認知神經科學的研究，能對語句理解有更深入的認識。
Dr. Chia-Hsuan Liao received her B.A. and M.A. in the Department of English at National Taiwan Normal University. Then at the University of Maryland, she obtained her Ph.D. in Linguistics, with a certificate in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science. Her research area is in Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, and Cognitive Neuroscience. She uses neuroimaging techniques, such as electroencephalography (EEG), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), to study the neural mechanisms of (bilingual) sentence processing. The goal of her research is to bridge linguistic theories and cognitive neuroscience research, in hopes of developing a better understanding of sentence comprehension.
